Stars & Stripes of Smyer:
Honoring America, One Flag at A Time
Show your American pride & support your community! You sign up. We put out the flag. Together, we cover Smyer in red, white and blue! For designated patriotic holidays throughout the year, CATS Volunteers will place a beautiful American flag, including a light, at your home or business before the holiday and return afterward to take it down and store it until the next flag day.
If you're looking for a special way to honor a loved one, you can purchase a subscription in memoriam. The flag will include a label with your loved ones name and be placed along the frontage road of Highway 114.
Your participation does more than show your patriotic spirit, it also supports CATS and our efforts to make Smyer a cleaner, more welcoming and connected community. We'll display flags for major patriotic holidays such as:
-
Memorial Day
-
Flag Day
-
Independence Day
-
September 11
-
Veterans Day
Deadline for Veterans Day 2026 is October 20
Annual Subscription: 5 flag holidays = $100
Renewal for the following year will be $50
Flags will be put out the day prior to the holiday and taken down the day after the holiday and stored for you until the next flag occasion. Smyer CATS retains full ownership of flag.
**PLEASE Note, only addresses inside and within 1 mile of Smyer city limits can be accommodated for this project.

The Grant Entrance
A welcoming community begins at the entrance. CATS is planning improvements to the Grant Street entrance to create a space that reflects the pride, character, and hospitality of Smyer. This project is just getting started, so check back often for updates and ways to be part of the journey.

03
Tree Removal
This project was completed on August 31, 2026. Shane Banks, along with community volunteers and the local Fire Department personnel removed a dead tree from Grant & 3rd Street. What a success!! See our facebook page for more photos and videos of the action!
